In 1997, as I sat on the taxi rank in Exmouth Devon, working at my job as a taxi owner, I listened to a local radio station, to pass the time. On the show was a rather posh-sounding gentleman, and he was talking about UFO’s. Now, this was a passion of mine, and had been so for most of my life. As he talked, I found myself disagreeing with quite a lot he said, so much so in fact, that I got out of my taxi and walked to the phone box, that stood beside the rank. I called into the show, and had quite a conversation with the guest. After the conversation had finished, and I sat again in my car, I found myself wishing that I could meet this man, and continue our conversation. The feeling grew so large that I radioed into base, and took the afternoon off work!. I drove the 15 miles or so to the radio station in Exeter. After some convincing of the receptionist, I managed to get her to phone him, and request a meeting. He agreed. I drove the further 2 miles or so, and found the place where he lived. There was no-one home!. I decided to wait there, and soon a slim, well-spoken man approached me. He enquired if he could help me, I replied that I was waiting for the gentleman whom I had been conversing with earlier that day, on the radio show! He laughed, and returned to his car. A giant of a man emerged from the car and came up to the front door of the house. We shook hands, and that, ladies and gentlemen, is how I came to be friends and comrades with Jon Downes, of the CFZ!!!

Since then, Jon and I have become dear friends. We have written a book together, and the CFZ was, and still is, a big part of my professional paranormal life. It is probably the worlds largest, and certainly the most professional group, that studies Cryptozoology. I most urgently recommend anyone who wishes to study this fascinating subject, to check out this group!..
